Creating Auctions on the Item Search Results Page

An auction for one or more Items can be created on the Item Search Results page in the Inventory Manager. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Inventory Manager.
  2. Find the desired Items as described in Searching for Items.
  3. Select the desired Items from the search results using the checkboxes on the left side of the results.
  4. Scroll down to the Send these ___ items to auction section near the bottom of the page.
  5. Select eBay or eBay Motors from the Provider drop-down list.
  6. Select the Auction Type from the drop-down list:
    • Auction
    • Store
    • Fixed Price
  7. Select the Auction Length in days from the drop-down list. Available choices depend on the auction type, as follows:
Length in Days Auction Store Fixed Price
    Default X X X
    1 X
    3 X   X
    5 X   X
    7 X   X
    10 X   X
    30   X X
GTC (Good 'Til Canceled)   X X
  8. Enter a launch date and time in the Launch Dt field. Clicking Now populates the field with the current date and time.
  9. Enter a launch interval in minutes in the Interval field. This defines the interval between auction launches when multiple Items are selected.
  10. The auction prices are based on the Item simple pricing. Set the pricing type of the auctions to Percent or Flat in the Price By drop-down list.
    • If Percent, select the price on which to base the auction price using the Basis drop-down list, then enter a percentage in the Fixed % field. This calculates the set price for a Store or Fixed Price auction, or the "buy it now" price for a regular auction. (Note that the actual value won't appear on this page.) The following Percent options are available:
      • Cost
      • Sales (default selection)
      • MSRP
    • If Flat, enter the price in the Fixed field. This is the set price for a Store or Fixed Price auction, or the "buy it now" price for a regular auction.
  11. For regular auctions, enter a value for the minimum bid in the Start (if Flat) or Start % (if Percent) field.
  12. Optionally, for regular auctions, enter a value for the reserve bid in the Resv (if Flat) or Resv % (if Percent) field.
  13. Click Prepare to create the auction without sending it to eBay, or Send to create the auction and send it to eBay. A prepared auction must be exported to eBay manually or via a Job. Sending an auction places it in the auction export queue, which is processed every 30 minutes.
  14. To define any other settings on the auction, see Managing and Editing Existing Auctions in the Auction Manager. You can send a prepared auction to eBay by clicking Send to Auction on the auction details page.
