Jobs

Jobs automate routine tasks or long-running processes, such as importing and exporting data, replicating data or code, or building a search index. Jobs can use out-of-the-box system steps, or a developer can create custom job steps. You can run jobs manually as needed or schedule them to run at a specific time or on a recurring basis.

Scheduling of custom jobs is disabled on sandbox instances. There is a blue information banner on the “Jobs” page and on the job details “Scheduling and History” tab of a specific job. System jobs, for example sitemap generation, search index rebuilding, and the like are not affected.
