Rule actions define how Commerce Cloud Einstein Recommenders show, hide, or move
matching items within a list.
Note: When configuring rules, make sure to not create conflicting rules. For example, don't
create rules that simultaneously try to show and hide the same product items, avoid
promoting and demoting the same product items at the same time, and so on.
There are four rule actions.
- Show―Causes the system to show only items that match the specified field values, and
to hide any items that do not match the specified field values.
- Hide―Causes the system to hide items that match the specified field values.
- Promote―Causes the system to raise the matching items, so that the product IDs
matching the specified values can show in the list of product ids displayed in the
recommendations.
- Demote―Causes the system to lower the matching item, so that the product IDs
matching the specified values can fall outside of the list of product IDs displayed
in the recommendations.
