Order Management uses an automatic Job to handle the creation of Shipping Orders and allocation of Order Items to them. You can manage the schedule on which it runs, as well as the rules that it uses to control the actual allocation. If you are running Order Management Retail Center, then you can also configure the Job to allocate Items from your retail locations.
When Items are allocated, a Shipping Order must be picked from inventory, packed for shipping, and handed off to the shipper. Some of this functionality can be automated or managed through an external warehouse management system (WMS), depending on your particular business needs.
