Product information

You can localize product descriptions, names, codes, and customer-facing documents, such as email, reports, pack sheets and shipping labels, if you are doing business in multiple languages, locales or regions.

Product descriptions are driven by merchant catalogs and are translated in Order Management if the catalog information has been translated. Customer-facing documents are translated into the language of the customer order.

Scenario 1: Localized Product Information

Scenario: Customer Service Center
An existing U.S. customer calls Customer Service Center to place an order and requests product information about an item . The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is located in France, and is using Customer Service Center localized in French. The CSR must access the product information and if translated into French, views the product information in French.
Action
The CSR performs the following steps to provide product information to the U.S. customer while viewing the product information in French:
  1. Log into Customer Service Center using the user profile, which is localized in French.
  2. Click Find Customer, then search for and locate the customer.
  3. Click Create New Order.
  4. Click the Info tab and select French - France from the Locale list.
  5. Click the Cart tab and select products requested by the customer. If you select Read More, the Item detail page opens and can be shared with the customer. If the product information is translated into French, it appears in French.
  6. Continue steps to complete the order process as described in Creating New Sales Orders in Customer Service Center.

Scenario 2: Localized Customer-Facing Documents

Scenario: Customer Service Center
A U.S. customer calls to place an order that is to be shipped to a friend in Germany. The customer wants assurance that the pack sheet is in German so their German friend can confirm that the contents of the order are complete. The U.S. CSR ensures the U.S. customer that the shipping label and pack sheet are printed in German for the friend in Germany.
Action
The CSR performs these steps to deliver the order to a friend in Germany and ensure that the customer-facing information is printed in German, rather than English:
  1. Log into Customer Service Center using the user profile, which is localized in English.
  2. Click Find Customer, then search for and locate the customer.
  3. Click Create New Order.
  4. Click the Info tab. and select German - Germany from the Local list.
  5. Continue steps to complete the order process as described in Creating New Sales Orders in Customer Service Center.
  6. Edit the Shipping address in the Item Shipping section on the Order detail page.
  7. Select Germany from the Country list, which changes the address fields into the German address format.
  8. Add the German shipping address in the appropriate address fields for Germany.

All customer-facing documents are sent in German and shipped to an address in the address format for Germany.
