When the warehouse receives returned merchandise sent by
customers, the returned merchandise must be tracked as received. Customer
Service Center is typically used to process a return. On occasion,
however, a customer returns the merchandise without contacting the
Customer Service Center first. This is called a blind return. When
this occurs, the return is processed in Fulfillment Center. As returns are
received into the warehouse, they can be looked up with the order ID,
shipping order ID, or tracking number.
- When a returned item is received at a warehouse site:
- In Order Management Fulfillment Center, open Inventory
Station.
- Create a return and a return order.
- If you check the Restockable box on the Return window,
this indicates that the received item can be restocked. This
generally means that the item is in saleable condition.
- When a customer wants to return an item to Customer Service
Center:
- Create a return in Customer Service Center.
- Assign an RMA to the return.
- When the return is set up, create a return order to handle the
actual return of the item.
