User-Defined Pick Lists

Some pick lists have a user-defined set of selections, and you can localize some, such as the shipping order assignment reject and price adjustment reasons. You can view the localized versions in Order Management when the user profile is set to a specific locale. Localized price adjustment reasons can be viewed in Customer Service Center, Fulfillment Center, and Retail Center. Localized Shipping Order Reject Reasons can be viewed in Retail Center. The localized reasons can also be included on customer-facing documents such as pack sheets, email templates, and reports.

To create a pick list with user-defined selections, do as follows:

  1. In the Settings accordion menu, select Preferences. The System Preferences page opens.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Click Pick Lists. The System Wide Lists page opens.
  4. Select the pick list from the dropdown, and then click Add Item. An empty line appears with the Label, Short Label, Description, Code fields, and the Visible checkbox.
  5. Enter the field information.
  6. Click one of the following:
    • Update to save the information
    • Cancel to discard the information
    • Trash can icon (???) to delete the pick list selection.

To modify the user-defined fields, do as follows:

  1. In the Settings accordion menu, select Preferences. The System Preferences page opens.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Click Pick Lists. The System Wide Lists page opens. Existing pick list selections are listed.
  4. Click the Edit link for the pick list selection. The Label, Short Label, Description, and Code fields, and the Visible checkbox, are in edit mode.
  5. Modify the field information as appropriate.
  6. Click one of the following:
    • Update to save the information
    • Cancel to discard the information
    • Trash can icon (???) to delete the pick list selection.

To create or change a localized shipping order reject reason or price adjustment reason, do as follows:

  1. In the Settings accordion menu, select Preferences. The System Preferences page opens.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Click Pick Lists, and then click the language from the Localization dropdown list. Reasons appear in the System Wide List. Reasons that have not been localized into the specified language are unavailable.
  4. Click the Edit link. The Label, Short Label, Description, Code fields appear in edit mode.
  5. Enter or modify localized text in the Label, Short Label, Description, and Code fields.
    Note: As you begin to enter localized text into each field, the existing text disappears.

    The Code field can't be localized for price adjustment reasons that were imported from B2C Commerce. The Code field can't be localized for any shipping order reject reason.

  6. Click one of the following:
    • Update to save the information
    • Cancel to discard the information
    • Trash can icon (???) to delete the pick list selection.

The following table describes the parameter fields and buttons on the System Wide Lists page for these pick lists.

Fields and Buttons Description
Label (Required) An identifier used to reference the selection, such as English - United States for the Country pick list.
Short Label (Required) An abbreviated identifier used to reference the selection in the various Order Management pages.
Description A detailed description of the selection.
Code (Required) An abbreviated code used to reference the selection.
Visible checkbox A selection in this box makes this selection visible in the dropdown.
Edit link Click the Edit link to customize existing or to localize a pick list selection. For example, you can customize the CustomCharge1 in the Payment Method pick list. Or you could localize a price adjustment reason into French.
Trash can icon ( ) Deletes the pick list selection.
Update button Updates the selection with the changed text.
Cancel button Discards any changed text for the selection.
